Last updated 1 year ago

The decision on whether an Edge Controller will take automated actions, or whether the Giraffe Cloud will send out notifications via email or to an is primarily controlled by the 'armed' status of the Edge Controller.

Arming & Disarming

The Edge Controllers can be individually armed and disarmed using the toggle on any camera. This will arm or disarm the Edge Controller to which the camera is attached.

The current arming status can be checked using the padlock icon visible in the top right of a camera widget. If the Edge Controller is in an active alarm state, the icon will be red.

At the moment it is not possible to arm / disarm all the devices on a site at the same time with a single button, but this is something that will be added in the future.

Schedules

You can setup a schedule to automatically arm and disarm a device each day. This is done from the Schedules tab on the Edge Controller setting page.

Log Entries

Every alarm arming or disarming event will generate an entry in the Edge Controller's event log.

See the page for more information about configuring schedules.
