The Edge Controller V2 has 2 isolated UART ports (compatible with Victron VE.Direct) and 2 RS232 ports.

The Edge Controller 'scans' for devices connected to the serial ports and attempts to identify them based on the responses.
It therefore does not matter which devices are connected to which ports.
