Fan Control

As outlined in the wiring pages, the Edge Controller can support with a static speed 12V fan, or a variable speed/PWM 12V fan.

Once connected, the Edge Controller will automatically activate the fan to different set points in order to maintain safe working temperatures for the Edge Controller enclosure.

The current health of the fan can be checked from the System Status page (Settings -> Systems -> select the system -> Settings -> Fan Healthcheck). Once initiated, the Edge Controller will spin up the fan, and then probe the fan's current state and report it back to the web application.

If there is a problem, it will be shown here, in addition to the error having been logged in the Event Log at the time it occurred.

Historic data for the fan and system temperature can be found at the system's General tab (Settings -> Systems -> select the system -> General -> Temperature )
