Alarm handling
Video events are short video clips that have been uploaded to the Giraffe cloud in response to camera video events. These events may be triggered by the Edge Controller's AI or by the camera itself sending SMTP alarms to the Edge Controller.
Events can be viewed on the History tab on the top menu bar.
Finding events

You can filter the list of events to help narrow down what you are looking for.
Filter by camera, system or site

Note that the camera name is stored along with the event, so if you rename a camera, it will show up in the filter twice under both it's old name and it's new name.
Filter by the type of detection

Unknown detections are those triggered via either motion detection or camera SMTP alerts that do not provide a classification.
If you have cloud filtering enabled, unknown detections will get reclassified as either person or vehicle events depending on the analysis of the image.
Note that the classification is based on the initial detection when using Edge Controller AI.
For instance, if a person walks across a scene, the Edge Controller will draw a bounding box around the person and upload a series of snapshots. This will be classified as a person.
If a vehicle then drives across the scene, this will generate a second event that will be categorised as vehicle. The bounding boxes will be drawn around the vehicle.
Filter by the confidence score

You can chose to filter by the minimum confidence score.
Edge Controller AI detections are given a confidence. It can be useful to filter by confidence if you want to increase the minimum confidence score you set in the AI settings.
Filter by suppression status

If you have cloud filtering enabled, you can chose to see only suppressed or unsupressed events.
Suppressed events are events that were uploaded by the Edge Controller but cloud filtering decided did not contain either a person or a moving vehicle. They woould not have been sent to users or the alarm receiving centre.
Filter by date

You can search for events on a certain date.
You can also use the relatively buttons such as "yesterday".
Viewing events
You can view the snapshots for an event by clicking on one of the snapshots. This will load a full screen preview

You can use the arrows on the screen or your keyboard left and right key to move between the snaphots.
The contexual buttons in the top right corner can be used to modify the display.

The download file icon downloads the current snapshot to your local computer.
Recordings Timeline takes you to this point on the recordings screen. This will only work if the Edge Controller still has the footage stored locally.
Hide boxes hides the bounding boxes. This also works to hide the bounding boxes when you download a snapshot.
Cloud / Source toggles between the original bounding boxes from the Edge Controller or the bounding boxes from the cloud service.
The expand icon makes the snapshot larger.

If the event has a video clip, you can play the video by clicking the play icon. You can skip forwards and backwards by draging on the grey bar underneath the video.

You can quickly jump to the recording timeline for the particular camera at the event's point in time by clicking on Recording Timeline.
The next icon after the timestamp will tell you the classification (person, vehicle or unknown). If you hover over it, it will give you more information about the detection:

The next icon in the rows tells you the source of the event - either Edge Controller's AI or SMTP from a camera.
You can hover over this icon to see the status of cloud AI processing and Virtual Security Guard. If it is still pending, it means we are still waiting for the results.

By clicking on the elipsis icon, you can download the video clip to your computer, or delete the event:

Virtual Security Guard
If you have Virtual Security Guard enabled, you will have further contexual information about th event

The Scene Description is an AI generated summary of what was happening. This text will be searchable in the future.
The AI Announcement is the AI audio talkdown that was automatically generated and sent to the speaker. You can press the speaker icon to hear a recording of the audio that was sent.
At the bottom are a number of tags that get added.
These are
Authorized Personnel - if the AI considers that the person is likely to be authorised (ie. wearing uniform or hi vis clothing).
