Virtual Security Guard

Virtual Security Guard (or VSG for short) is Giraffe's agentic AI service.

Rather than relying on a human operator to make a timely audio announcement to the site if an intruder is detected, the VSG service can automate these announcements using contexual clues from the alarm images.

You can see the VSG announcement on the right hand side.

You can listen to the actual audio that was played out of the speakers by pressing the speaker icon below the text. This will play it out of your computers speakers not the tower itself.

Configuration

In order to enable VSG on your cameras please contact Giraffe support. At the moment it is not possible to enable yourself.

VSG requires cloud filtering to be enabled as a prerequisite.

At the moment there is no configuration possible wiht VSG. The audio announcement is fixed to the following script.

Warning, this is security. [contextual description here] The area you are in is private property. You are being monitored by live CCTV and security has already been notified. I repeat again, you're being watched live on CCTV. Please leave immediately!

In future updates it will be possible for you to customise the anouncement, speak in different accents and languages and custom prompt it.

Timing

It takes approximately 10-12 seconds for the VSG service to analyse the alarm images, prepare the announcement and begin to synthesise the speech.

The audio announcement will start streaming to the speakers as soon as the first words of the announcement is available.

It also takes approximately 10-12 seconds for the 5 snapshot images from the cameras to be uploaded to the cloud. This depends on the speed of the internet connection.

Therefore the total time period from the Edge Controller first spotting the human to the audio announcement coming through is approximately 20-24 seconds.

This is considerably faster than any human operator would be able to respond, bearing in mind they would have the same wait whilst the snapshots upload over the internet.
